History of Ambacare
Ambacare Ltd is a small family business first started and registered with Companies House in March 1997 when Amanda and her Mother, Barbara and Stepfather, Roy, worked together to take over a long established Practice of Osteopathy and Naturopathy in Luton, Bedfordshire. This practice was previously owned by the late Mr Denis Cox, who was respected as one of the Founder members of The Guild of Osteopaths, an early registering body of Osteopaths which worked, together with other affiliating bodies of Osteopaths toward safe and regulated Osteopathic practice, leading on to the formation of the British Osteopathic Association in the 1990's.
Amanda had worked in this renowned practice with Denis S Cox, as a Sports Therapist and assistant, mentored by Denis for several years, and Barbara as a Counsellor and receptionist, until Denis retired from his long respected career. Amanda was privileged to continue in his footsteps for a further 10 years in Luton, until expecting her first child, the practice and Goodwill was sold on, and Amanda relocated with her husband to North Wales, with Richard's work commitments.
Continuing to practice part-time in Leaf Health, Anglesey and Colwyn Bay/Deganwy practices, with Sue Upton, at Caban, Brynrefail, and at Axis Therapy, Bangor and later on her own, in Capel Curig, Amanda enjoyed a full life in the beautiful setting of the Snowdonia National Park. However, due to an increasing number of factors, Richard and Amanda decided to relocate to the Borders/Southern Scotland region, which would bring them closer to some other family members.
This led on to discussions with Julia Williams, Osteopath, who had worked hard to develop a good, well respected Osteopathic practice in Moffat. It was decided that, as Julia required to move away to help care for her mother, Amanda and Richard would move up to Moffat to take over the running of this practice.
So, here we are.....Ambacare Ltd, began in Luton 1997-2007; moved to North Wales 2007-2012; and now settled with an evolving Osteopathic and Complementary Therapy centre in Moffat, Dumfries & Galloway, March 2013-present.
Vision for the Future
Amanda's vision for the future....is one of accessible community wide complementary health care, running parallel to the good work of the local, National Health Service & other private health care professionals, maintaining good relations with G.P.s and Consultants in the area, helping to provide a broad choice of reliable Natural Health Therapies. This gives you, the patient, a wider choice and greater control over your own health care and wellness management.
Private Practice & Fees
Whilst Ambacare is a private practice and fees are payable, we aim to inform patients of a treatment plan, approximate number and frequency of treatments anticipated. Any recommended period of management or expected outcome/prognosis will also be discussed at the earliest opportunity, so as to inform patients of expected cost of their treatment programme. We can, where possible, accept health insurance cover and payment, but this is to be arranged on an individual basis. Receipts can be issued whenever required, for business purposes.
Each of our associate therapists is 'self employed' and responsible for their own income, although our receptionists are here to manage payments and appointments for your ease and convenience.
When you visit, you'll meet either Mary or Katrina…..
